I will always save a precious part of the kid I used to be it's a flame still burning strong in me that has shaped my identity I know people change, in most cases they'll just walk away from me but my heart's the same and so is the bond we share just the few of us still here we're still here and I don't mind of the times we left behind 'cause the best is yet to come, just wait and see the blood that runs in our veins heartbeats like drums, the voice of those against the grain we won't back down, won't hesitate that's what we’ve learned: the struggle never ends 'cause we are crazy enough to dream and to try to live at full speed 'cause we always choose the hard way because we know where it leads life is not a game, this is what they say but they play with lives so easily no one really cares if you're alive or dead but I'll find you next to me we're still here and I don't mind of the times we left behind 'cause the best is yet to come, just wait and see the blood that runs in our veins heartbeats like drums, the voice of those against the grain we won't back down, won't hesitate that's what we’ve learned: the struggle never ends life's a constant quest every scar's a medal on my chest to remind me where I've been and where to go 'cause some roads just lead to dead ends if you're lost reach out for my hand we've got each other's back, this is our code we'll find another road

when we were kids sometimes we used to play in that field there was no fence nor gate it was great for hide-and-seek where corn grew tall and strong now it's covered with concrete to say it's wrong is pointless and so I sing this hymn for those days, today in those summer nights, you and I, young and carefree the smell of corn, the bugs, the moon, our smiles and our grazed knees where corn grew tall and strong now it's covered with concrete to say it's wrong is pointless and so I sing this hymn for those days, today resigned, I wander in that field again memories still vivid in my dreams and I wonder why they had to steal the beauty of this place what is left now that colors have changed memories, that's what is left today today

I choose to be blind what you can't see can't hurt you and that's no lie yeah, I know, it's true I'm avoiding confrontations and it feels so good 'cause reality is a burden I can't bear you want me to face it and understand but I'm cozy and safe in my sad distracted life 'cause reality is more than I can take don't want to see the pictures that you show me, I know what's real nevertheless my attitude allows me to live through the sense of guilt I feel everytime I see the wrongs i participate in and I could change if it wasn't for my same old cheap excuse I'm sorry but it's more than I can take don't get me wrong, you know how they say out of sight out of mind don't get me wrong, you know how they say out of sight out of mind I prefer this sweet sweet lie to a bitter truth of that kind it's easy to believe that there's nothing wrong with the way I live it is certainly a relief to live by this belief it's just the way it goes call it a habit or tradition maybe it's laziness, but still it's not up to me

Like Waves 02:24
do you really believe that you can defeat the giant with your own bare hands? you're sick of injustice but be smart, son, trust me you're making a fool of yourself please just do something else things are like this and there's nothing in the world you can do to turn them around useless to raise your voice, useless to stand your ground step back and take it as it comes step back and take it as it comes even if you won't take part in it, others will things ain't gonna change there will always be someone taking advantage of the weaker, this is the law of nature this is just nature's law well, I'm just sick of hearing “what's the point?” the impact of an action and a choice is real, even if it just causes minor ripples it increases when you're not alone, like waves

an hour staring at this blank page hunting for the words to say can't tell who's the hunter and who's the prey is it easy to talk about revolution? easy to talk about change? are they ineffective words today? talk is cheap and convenient when our actions don't match what we say is attention for our ego what we crave? are we just living through the words we say? inevitably contradicted when we question all we know the reason why I can't leave my comfort zone 'cause we often focus so much on the things that should be done that we essentially end up doing none talk is cheap and convenient when our actions don't match what we say is attention for our ego what we crave? we'll never be completely right but we can't be wrong every day stunned we freeze while chances fade away are we just living through the words we say? we don't know where to get started and we don't start from anywhere always overthinking details coming up with no real plan a superficial satisfaction bellies filled with empty words thoughts and actions need connections don't let your voice be unheard talk is cheap and convenient when our actions don't match what we say is attention for our ego what we crave? but don't you know that every gesture is important to make a difference day by day brick by brick these walls will tumble down something more than just those words we said

Empathy 03:12
please look into my eyes I'm destined to die you really don't know why just because someone else is going to eat my flesh the purpose of my life and no one's going to cry something you share with me something you share with me none of us want to be killed or confined we all just want to be free and live our lives do you really need to live yours by taking mine? I'm someone just like you, but of a different kind now look behind these bars and try to meet my eyes is empathy so hard to find into your heart? are differences enough to sentence me to death and pet the lucky ones? something you share with me something you share with me none of us want to be killed or confined we all just want to be free and live our lives do you really need to live yours by taking mine? I'm someone just like you, but of a different kind it's you and me

thinking of tomorrow puzzled and confused thoughts and doubts about the shit I'm going through there's not much to gain everything to lose happiness is at risk in its pursuit should I stay safe and warm in a place I don't want to be should I go ahead and try to find what's best for me and I, I was afraid but now... I'm not afraid I wasted so much time wishing for something to happen but never did a thing to make it happen was I really trying or just thinking I was trying? nothing comes easily in life and I've never started should I stay safe and warm in a place I don't want to be should I go ahead and try to find what's best for me and I, I was afraid but now... I'm not afraid you might think that I'm a fool chasing a dream you might think that I'm deluded and naive but at least I'm here and I'm rolling up my sleeves do you really think you've done better than me and I, I was afraid but now... I'm not afraid

Anaesthetic 03:07
I just need to find a way to ease my pain all hopes went down the drain and here I am directionless or I simply cannot see through the tears that filled my eyes and sank my dreams don't know much in life but I'm pretty sure I'll find all the solutions in the bottom of my glass it's anaesthetic for my misery I don't think I'm strong enough to fight it back and I, as I pour this wine I'm dancing with my pain and simply trying to drink it away and I, I'm just having fun I don't want to be aware that I bailed before trying any other way I'll drink it away

look at you now watching the news yelling at the screen swallowing truth you always lash out to blame the poor but you ve never thought to blame those suited bastards that drool over your vote I'd rather escape, run far from here than turn into a blindfolded puppet that bends his head, fed with fear, just like you institutional lies and promises make you believe that this world is ours as it should be breaking your back day after day sealing your casket, nail after nail follow the plot that you should know another crisis, another scapegoat, another war I'd rather escape, run far from here than turn into a blindfolded puppet that bends his head, fed with fear, just like you institutional lies and promises make you believe that this world is ours as it should be angry masses marching in unison heading to the nearest shopping mall falling in line to buy the newest phone paying for it with the remnants of their souls and I... I'd rather escape, run far from here than turn into a blindfolded puppet that bends his head, fed with fear, just like you institutional lies and promises make you believe that this world is ours as it should be

there are things that I'd like to say but I'm never talking to you again there's things I'd like to phrase some way but I'm never talking to you again I'm never talking to you again I'm never talking to you I'm tired of wasting all my time trying to talk to you I'd put you down where you belong but I'm never talking to you again I'd show you everywhere you're wrong but I'm never talking to you again I'm never talking to you again I'm never talking to you I'm tired of wasting all my time trying to talk to you, talking to you I'm never talking to you again I'm never talking to you I'm tired of wasting all my time trying to talk to you

a train in the distance is passing, its voice calling me in the wind the place's the same, a different me I stop to think how many times I've heard it in my life I've changed so much since the first time never look back have no regrets just get the best from every second that you've got and don't forget other than that: just be yourself I think tonight i'll leave a note and hop on the first train a different me, a different place my backpack, my guitar and nothing more to take with me then I'll see then what else I need
